Pros

- Clean component and hook APIs
- Built-in image optimization and upload controls
- Good documentation and examples
- Reliable hosted storage without complex configuration
Cons
- Less flexibility than a fully custom AWS/S3 setup

Verdict
UploadThing does a good job of removing friction from file uploads in modern web apps. It is best suited for teams building Next.js products who want a polished upload experience quickly. The main trade-off is giving up some control compared with a fully custom storage setup.
