What Is Jango?

Jango tests multi-user applications by giving your app a group of AI users. Each AI participant gets its own browser, account, goals, and memory. Point Jango at your dev URL, and the participants sign in and interact with each other in real time — testing the flows that require multiple concurrent users.

This solves a specific problem: testing multi-user interactions is hard because it requires coordinating real people. Social feeds, marketplaces, collaborative editors, chat apps, multiplayer games — these all behave differently when multiple users interact simultaneously, and testing them manually is slow, expensive, and inconsistent.

Key Features

AI Participants With Roles

Each AI participant is a full simulated user with its own browser session, account credentials, assigned role, and behavioral goals. A marketplace test might have three buyers and two sellers. A chat app test might have a team of five with different permission levels. Jango keeps each participant in character.

Live Observation and Control

Watch the AI participants interact in real time. You can direct them mid-session (“now try to buy the same item simultaneously”), join as yourself, or take control of any participant’s screen. This makes Jango both an automated testing tool and a manual exploration tool.

Run Evidence

At the end of each session, Jango produces a report with the actions each participant took, errors encountered, and screenshots at key moments. The evidence is reproducible — you can replay a session to see exactly what happened and in what order.

Context Memory

Jango remembers identities, discovered UI controls, and interaction patterns across runs. This means participants get better at navigating your app over time, and you don’t need to re-describe the UI for every test session.

Who Is This For?

Pros

  • Solves a real gap — multi-user testing is genuinely hard
  • $9/mo Pro plan is accessible for indie devs
  • Free plan available (3 participants)
  • BYOK option keeps AI costs transparent
  • Live observation + control for interactive exploration
  • Reproducible evidence reports

Cons

  • AI participants may miss edge cases real users find
  • Complex UIs may confuse the participants
  • AI costs add up with many participants and long sessions
  • New product — limited track record
  • Not a replacement for load testing (different problem)

Verdict

Jango fills a gap that other testing tools don’t address well. Selenium and Playwright test single-user flows. Load testing tools test throughput. But testing the interactions between users — what happens when two buyers bid on the same item, or when five collaborators edit the same document — has been a manual, expensive, inconsistent process.

The $9/mo founding price is aggressive and smart. It gets developers trying the tool before the competitive landscape fills in. The BYOK model means you’re not paying twice for AI compute.

The main limitation is inherent to AI-driven testing: participants interact based on what they understand about your UI, and complex or unconventional interfaces may confuse them. For standard web app patterns, this should work well. For highly custom UIs, expect a learning curve as participants build context memory.
