Overview
Eraser combines docs and diagrams in one tool. Write documentation, draw architecture diagrams, and create flowcharts. AI-assisted diagram generation.
Pros
- Docs and diagrams in one tool
- AI diagram generation from text
- Clean minimal UI
- Real-time collaboration
- Version history
- Mermaid and PlantUML support
Cons
- Free tier limitations
- No self-hosted option
- Limited diagram types vs Lucidchart
- Export options could be richer
- Learning curve for diagram syntax
Verdict
Eraser is the best tool for technical documentation that needs diagrams. Instead of writing docs in Notion and diagrams in Lucidchart, Eraser lets you do both in the same document. The AI diagram generation turns plain text descriptions into architecture diagrams, and the collaboration features work for distributed teams.
